So you don't feel totally alone, we provide an exclusive 24 hour Emergency HELP line to all our walkers while on their walks, so if you get stuck or require assistance, give us a call!

Self Guided walks are the most economical form of walking holiday. If you have a walking partner you are happy to share a room with, then the holiday will be even better value!  We love planning walks (it is what we do best!) and work with you to tailor a package to suit your needs.

Why aren't your prices listed?  Everyone's needs are different so we do not have standardised priced packages. Room prices vary throughout the year and from mid week to weekends to Public Holidays. Package prices vary depending on the number of walkers. If you are on your own, you can expect to pay a little extra. Providing meals is extra. So please contact us, tell us what you want, and we'll respond promptly with a priced package just for you. You may find a cheaper package but you won't find anyone else who takes care of you like we do.

We can offer:

  • accommodation bookings - we know which accommodation will best suit you and can attract better prices
  • return transport from Melbourne - a good option as it saves you time spent doing vehicle shuttles at the start and end of each day's walking. Note: on the Great Ocean Walk you can spend up to three hours a day doing your vehicle shuttles - and that's after spending three hours or more just getting there. So leave the car at home, and get an early start so can spend your time walking, not driving.
  • meals - depending on which accommodation you book, we can organise meals. If you wish to self cater, we can help by identifying places with suitable facilities
  • exclusive track notes, distance tables  & walking map - we provide all our walkers with our exclusive Track Notes free and can offer an excellent annotated topographic Great Ocean Walk walking map with the track marked
  • 24 hour Emergency HELP line - we provide this service for all our walkers. It is nice to know someone is looking out for you and we are here to help all our walkers stay safe and achieve their goals. With the ever present risk of bushfire over the summer months we can coordinate an evacuation for you if conditions are threatening. We will also call you or leave messages to update you on any significant weather or fire risks.
  • for a little extra, we can provide satellite phone and  SPOT satellite messenger hire
  • expert advice on your itinerary - we know the walk intimately, helped clear & construct it, guide it frequently and have accurate GPS coordinates of the whole trail! We know its ins and outs, what to see, detours worth taking, pick up points and what is achievable for walkers of different abilities.

So give us a call or 115,101,110,100,32,117,115,32,97,110,32,101,109,97,105,108, we'd love to hear from you!!!

With so much of Victoria’s coastline developed, the Great Ocean Walk offers a unique opportunity to explore the largely untouched, rugged and uniquely beautiful coastline of Victoria’s Shipwreck Coast. Our walks have been thoughtfully constructed, offering great variety, secluded forest tracks, windswept surf beaches and rock pools and high undulating tracks with spectacular coastal views that will have your camera working overtime.

Melanesia Beach | Great Ocean WalkAlong the full length of this walk, we experience a wonderful diversity of nature: secluded forest glades, towering gums and ferns; manna gum forests inhabited by koalas; miles of low lying coastline, carpeted in coastal heath, coastal wattle, coastal rosemary, banksias, orchids and even a brief section of grasstree (Xanthorrhoea Australis) forest. Secluded bays and coves are bracketed by steep escarpments, on the edges of which you will find Sheoaks (casuarinas), precariously perched with their roots having an ever tenuous hold of the sandy soil.

Nearing the end of the walk, the geology of the coastline changes dramatically and we are staggered by the sudden appearance, west of Princetown, of the steep and forbidding limestone cliffs that characterise Gibson’s Steps, the Twelve Apostles Marine Park with huge rock outcrops soaring 70 metres from the Southern Ocean’s floor and Mutton Bird Island. Intuitively we can understand why this coastline posed such a threat to mariners in the nineteenth century.

Parks Victoria has put much thought and effort into the construction of this track. Tracks mostly follow natural contours, which leadsCoastal banksia | Great Ocean Wwalk to more enjoyable walking. Where steep sections are encountered, Parks have employed a variety of structures to ensure the steady stream of passing walkers does not hasten the erosion which would otherwise be caused. Similarly one finds extensive usage of long wooden duckboards where the track passes through sensitive sand dunes. The track meanders in and out of the forest, so after short inland sections, the stunning glimpses we have caught of the coastline suddenly change into the most marvellous vistas when the track finally breaks free of the bush and we find ourselves on the edge of the escarpment once again.

Soulfree Adventures offer guided, self guided and assisted walks in one of the most scenic coastal regions in the world that more than compares with the Port Douglas section of the Captain Cook Highway in Far North Queensland and Grand Sur Drive in California. We recommend booking a 7 private guided day walk to allow a day's touring amongst the spectacular Otway rainforests and waterfalls.

On our guided tours you will have the opportunity to see and photograph Victoria’s beautiful flora and fauna and our dedicated guides will give you an insight into the natural heritage and history of the region.
